Family Pastor - Jesse Burris
Jesse is from Haysville. He grew up just south of town and was homeschooled. He also grew up attending First Baptist Haysville and really the only time he was absent from the church was when he went off to college and seminary at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
Jesse met his wife, Krys, in youth group at First Baptist and they were married in 2020; they have a young daughter named Piper.
Jesse started filling in with the youth in 2019 while he was finishing up school online, and officially came on staff as the youth pastor in January 2020. In 2023, he stepped into the family pastor position.
If you had to sum up your responsibilities at FBC Haysville in one sentence, what would it be?
Challenging and supporting parents and families to raise their children to know Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and go live out the mission that He has for them.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
It’s better to make mistakes of forward motion than mistakes of sloth.
What do you do for fun?

Galatians 1:10 “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
