Malachi Devotionals | Giving | Malachi 3:6-18

Day 1: The Unchanging Nature of God

Devotional

In a world that is constantly changing, it is comforting to know that God remains the same. His unchanging nature provides stability and reliability. We can trust in His promises and rest in His consistency. This truth is a foundation for our faith, reminding us that no matter what happens around us, God is always in control and His love for us never wavers.

Bible Verse

For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. - Malachi 3:6

Reflection Question

How does knowing that God is unchanging provide comfort and stability in your life?

Quote

God is unchanging. For most of us, that's a very comforting thing, right? The fact that God is stable and consistent and he doesn't change like the seasons.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being unchanging and reliable. Help me to trust in Your consistency and find peace in Your steadfast love. Amen.

Day 2: Pursuing a Relationship with God

Devotional

God desires a genuine relationship with us, not just our compliance with rules. He wants us to seek His face, not just His hand. This means prioritizing our relationship with Him over what we can get from Him. When we focus on knowing God and building a relationship with Him, we experience His love and presence in a deeper way.

Bible Verse

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Reflection Question

Are you seeking God's face or His hand? How can you prioritize your relationship with Him today?

Quote

God wanted Israel to seek his face. They wanted to seek his hand. There's a difference, isn't there? When you seek someone's face, it's relational. When you seek someone's hand and what they give you, it's their resources.

Prayer

Lord, help me to seek Your face and not just Your hand. I want to know You more and build a deeper relationship with You. Amen.

Day 3: The Call to Transformation

Devotional

While God remains unchanging, we are called to continually seek transformation and repentance. As sinful people, we must change to align ourselves with a holy God. This process of transformation is ongoing and requires us to be open to God's leading and correction. Embracing change and seeking to grow in our faith is a vital part of our relationship with God.

Bible Verse

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. - Philippians 1:6

Reflection Question

What areas of your life need transformation to align with God's will? How can you be more open to His leading?

Quote

God's people must change. Sinful people meet holy God. Something's got to give, right? We change because he's perfect and he's unchanging.

Prayer

Lord, I acknowledge my need for transformation. Help me to be open to Your leading and correction. Continue the good work You have begun in me. Amen.

Day 4: Living Open-Handedly

Devotional

Living open-handedly means being willing to give and share the blessings God has given us. It is an act of worship and a way to honor God. When we give, we allow God's blessings to flow through us to others. This posture of generosity reflects God's love and helps us to be a blessing to those around us.

Bible Verse

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. - Luke 11:42

Reflection Question

How can you practice living open-handedly today? In what ways can you be a blessing to others?

Quote

We don't give to get a blessing. We give to be a blessing. If you give, it's a blessing to you, but it's a blessing to others, right?

Prayer

Lord, help me to live open-handedly and be generous with the blessings You have given me. Use me to be a blessing to others. Amen.

Day 5: The Beauty of the Gospel

Devotional

The beauty of the gospel is that God is always pursuing us. Even when we turn away, He is right there, ready to welcome us back. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross made it possible for us to be made right with God. This incredible love and grace should inspire us to live in a way that honors Him and reflects His love to others.

Bible Verse

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. - Romans 3:23-25

Reflection Question

How does the knowledge of God's relentless pursuit and Jesus' sacrifice impact your daily life and relationships?

Quote

The beauty of the gospel is he's always chasing us. And when we turn back to God, we don't have to go looking for Him. He's right there.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your relentless pursuit and the sacrifice of Jesus. Help me to live in a way that honors You and reflects Your love to others. Amen.
